Metropolis Apartments is thrilled to make its debut in this year’s Austin Studio Tour—a citywide celebration of local creativity—by spotlighting the incredible talents of its resident artists. For the first time ever, the community will transform one of its spacious four-bedroom vacant apartments into a lively gallery space, featuring work from four or more resident artists, along with light snacks and drinks for guests to enjoy. True to the "live here, play here" spirit, the event brings art to life right where it’s made, celebrating the unique connection between creative residents and the spaces they call home. The clubhouse also showcases works from both past and present residents, reflecting Metropolis Apartments’ ongoing passion for supporting independent artistic expression.
Here's a little bit more about each of our featured artists:

Bright - Born in Liberia, West Africa, and brought to the United States as a child, longtime Met resident Jefferson Bright has lived a life defined by movement, service, and art. A veteran of both the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army, he served overseas multiple times and continued to paint throughout his deployment. In fact, nine of his murals still hang in Bilad, Iraq.
Now based in Austin, Texas, he’s a regular participant in Art From the Streets, where in the most recent exhibition (October 18–19), he nearly sold out his collection of 36 works. His paintings are also currently featured at Wonderspaces Austin. His work is deeply inspired by what he’s seen; the deserts of the Middle East, the vivid colors and memories of Africa, and the everyday life and people that surround him in Austin.
